Multimedia Design Manager

Reports to: Director of Creative Design and Social Media
Job Classification: Full Time, Exempt. This is a temporary position through December 31, 2024.

Progress Arizona serves as our state’s progressive communications and digital hub. Utilizing earned media, social media, story collection, and research, we work to craft broader narratives that speak to the values of Arizonans focused on issues like voting rights, health care, LGBTQIA+ protections, jobs, and public education. We work ground up from our partners and have a large and growing network of local, state, and national partners, including community organizations, labor unions, and grassroots groups. We also have a significant online reach, an active Instagram and TikTok, and strong relationships with reporters and policymakers. 

We are seeking a highly creative and talented Multimedia Manager who is passionate about using design and video production in a multi-issue advocacy organization that works to advance causes of racial, social and environmental justice, to name a few. This position will be focused on storytelling from communities who have been impacted by policies like the Inflation Reduction Act. The candidate will have the opportunity to design both print and digital content as well as develop captivating videos to our target audiences for Tik Tok, Reels and Social Media content. Key Responsibilities
Design

• Design branded graphics and collateral material both print and digital content based on an understanding of racial, social and and environmental justice, including, but not limited to: guide sheets, infographics, flyers, presentations, and advertisements to be used by Progress staff.
• Develop copy for graphics that reflect our vision and mission while leveraging research and messaging guidance.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Collaborate with the content team to develop programmatic content development including print and digital media.

Video Production

• Develop script copy for creative and informative videos for Tik Tok and social media platforms, understanding our target audiences.
• Assist in the creation of storytelling processes while analyzing content performance to improve storytelling tracks.
• Facilitate collaboration between Progress Arizona and partner organizations.
• Manage Progress AZ video library and assist with on-site video production needs to ensure inclusion of communities most impacted, including young people, people of color, and low-income communities.
• Create organic video content as a digital spokesperson on reels, TikTok and other social media platforms. 
• Stay connected to design trends and techniques that will help Progress improve our communications content.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Required: 3-4 years of graphic design experience. 
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – Especially Illustration, Photoshop and Indesign.
• Ability to set and achieve goals independently and with a small team.
• Demonstrates understanding of typography, composition and color.
• Ability to adhere to style guide and organizational branding guidelines.
• A demonstrated commitment to racial, economic, and social justice values.
• Excellent organizational skills and communication (written and oral) skills
• Experience with VAN, EveryAction, Mobilize, and other progressive digital organizing tools a plus, but not required

Benefits

This position is hybrid, with in-person work requirements in Phoenix twice a week or more for partner events.  The salary for this position is $64,000. Medical, Vision, and Dental benefits and 401k enrollment with a 3% match are available.
