Progress Arizona Calls for State Senator Wendy Rogers to Be Expelled from the Arizona State Senate
PHOENIX – This weekend, State Senator Wendy Rogers spoke at the America First Political Action Conference, a notorious white supremacist gathering run by Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes and attended by neo-Nazis. Over the last few days, she has called for the hanging of her political enemies, called Fuentes a “patriot”, and used anti-Semitic language in tweets about the conflict in Ukraine.
Earlier today, the Arizona State Senate voted 24-3 to censure Rogers, but only after Republicans removed lines from the censure resolution about Rogers’ racist and xenophobic language.
In response, Abigail Jackson with Progress Arizona issued the following statement:
“Wendy Rogers has spent the last few days spewing anti-Semitic hate, hanging out with white supremacists and Holocaust deniers, and calling for political violence. Her behavior is abhorrent and completely unacceptable – and coming from a state lawmaker, it’s dangerous. She should not be serving in the Arizona state legislature, and we urge Senate President Karen Fann and the entire Arizona State Senate to take immediate steps to expel her.”
