Phoenix – Governor Doug Ducey is one of the “special guests” who will be present at tomorrow’s Phoenix rally with President Donald Trump.
The rally will be held at Dream City Church in Phoenix, which has a capacity of 3,000 people. Mayor Kate Gallego has said that Phoenix’s mask requirement will not be enforced. The church recently posted a video saying that they will be using a new “ionization” technology developed by their church to eliminate the risk of COVID-19.
“It is unbelievably irresponsible for Doug Ducey to appear at Trump’s rally tomorrow. COVID-19 cases are surging in Arizona, and hospitals are reaching capacity. But Governor Ducey plans to appear at a rally where thousands of people will gather indoors, many likely without masks. Ducey claims that he is protecting people’s right to assemble. But he isn’t just allowing the event to go forward – he is actively participating. Ducey’s appearance sends entirely the wrong message about the severity of the pandemic and stopping the spread,” said Emily Kirkland, Executive Director of Progress Now Arizona.
