Thursday, 5/20: Arizona Voters & Advocates to Rally to End the Filibuster
PHOENIX, Arizona — On Thursday, the Arizona Coalition to End the Filibuster, made up of a diverse group of local social justice and labor organizations, will host End the Filibuster rallies in Phoenix and Tucson to call on Senator Kyrsten Sinema (AZ) and Senator Mark Kelly (AZ) to ensure our democracy is inclusive and just by ending the Jim Crow filibuster and passing legislation Arizonans need and voted them in office to deliver on.
The rally comes as vital legislation, like the PRO Act, For the People Act, Equality Act immigration reform, climate justice and gun violence prevention bills have passed the U.S. House of Representatives or have been proposed by the White House and are now stalled in the U.S. Senate due to a 60 vote threshold needed for passage.
